Red garden verbena (Verbena x hybrida) has been present at our bordeers, balconies and terraces for some years already. You cannot resist the charm of its star-shaped, fiery red blooms that are gathered in dense top panicles. Plants of the proposed variety develop a compact, tuft-like habit that adds to their decorative value. Leaves and stems of the garden vervain (another common name for the plant) are practically invisible under the thick flower curtain in the blooming season, that lasts for almost half a year (from June to September). This charming miniature that grows approximately 20 - 40 cm tall offers indispensible support in arranging sunny flower beds, edgings and balcony gardens.
Verbena seeds are sown in spring at home or under unheated covers. Large, strong seedlings can be transplanted to the ground or box in May. This plant will grow beautifully in standard soil, provided we give it access to sunlight. Fertilised plants produce the most blooms and develop the most ellegant habit. Carmine flower heads of this beautiful plant should be arranged with other colour varieties of the same species. They also look great in company of colourful tropical sages, sweet alyssums and cockscombs.
Each package contains 0.5 g of red garden verbena seeds. Package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
