Soil that is too acidic makes it harder for plants to take up nutrients and worsens growing conditions. Florovit lime fertiliser in convenient granule form helps to quickly and evenly reduce soil acidity, restoring the proper pH. As a result, plants can make better use of the nutrients available in the soil, and the structure of the growing medium is clearly improved. It is a practical way to prepare the soil for cultivation before the season begins.
This lime product is intended for reducing the acidity of all soil types. It quickly improves soil reaction, which supports more efficient nutrient uptake by plants and limits the absorption of heavy metals such as cadmium, lead and chromium. The presence of calcium in the soil supports its physical properties. Together with humus, it improves the structure of the growing medium and supports the maintenance of proper air-water relations.
EC fertiliser - liming agent. Fertiliser type - standard limestone. Contains 50% CaO - total calcium oxide, which supports regulating soil reaction and supplying plants with calcium as an important nutrient.
The liming treatment should be carried out at least 3-4 weeks before the planned sowing of seeds or planting of plants, and before applying other soil fertilisers. It is recommended to apply the lime in autumn or very early spring. The application period falls in March as well as September and October.
Rates should be adjusted to the soil reaction and soil type. For lawns on very acidic soils with a pH below 5, use 4-5 kg per 10 m2, while on slightly acidic soils with a pH of around 6, the dose is 1-2 kg per 10 m2.
Spread the granules evenly over the entire surface and, if possible, mixed into the top 10-20 cm layer of soil. Lime should not be used around acid-loving plants such as blueberries, rhododendrons or heather plants. In one year, combining manure and lime fertilisation is not recommended. Vegetables such as peas, beans, carrots, parsley, celery, parsnips, tomatoes, cucumbers and pumpkins require liming no later than autumn in the year preceding cultivation.
Regular liming helps maintain the proper soil reaction and create good growing conditions for plants. It is an important treatment that prepares the growing medium for subsequent planting and sowing.
