The 'Batumi' is a new, extremely early bean variety that grows as compact bushes and produces delicious green pods. It is perfectly suited for eating cooked directly after the harvest and to be made into preserves. It produces plenty of fleshy, smooth and stringless pods. Their surface is free of discolorations and deformations. The pods are usually 13 cm long and round in cross section. The variety presented here is exceptionally resistant to bacterial diseases and various strains of anthracnose. It is recommended for single harvest. One kg of this bean contains circa 360 pods.

Bean is a thermophilic plant. Its seeds should be sown from mid May to mid June. The vegetation period lasts less than 68 days. Sow the seeds at the depth of 3-5 cm. The row spacing optimal for the proper development of the plants amounts to 30-40 cm. Keep the plants 8 to 10 cm apart in rows. You may sow both per broadcasting and per hole. The pods are gradually harvested over the course of several weeks.

French or green beans, as this vegetable is also called, has higher-than-the-average cultivation requirements. It prefers sunny and warm spots. A fertile, moderately moist soil rich in humus with slightly acidic reaction proves to be optimal for this plant. Bean bushes require frequent watering. This treatment is particularly important during the flowering and pod development stage. The site where young plants grow needs to be weeded regularly.

The French bean is a valued source of vitamin C and provitamin A. It also contains proteins and B vitamins. The tender pods are also rich in substantial doses of calcium, phosphorus and iron. It also contains strong antioxidants called flavonoids that prevent the free radicals from forming. This vegetable is also rich in fibre that supports the functioning of the digestive system.

One package contains 50 grams of seeds. The growing instructions and the sow-by date were printed on the package.
