Green French bean "Hilds Neckarkönigin" (Phaseolus vulgaris) is strongly growing variety recommended for cultivation with supports such as poles. This plant displays great vigour and in short time yields rich crops of long, tasty, green pods with well developed seeds and no trace of stiff strings. Pods grow 20 to 25 cm long and are circular in cross section. The shape of the seeds can be seen through the walls. Crops harvested from "Hilds Neckarkönigin" cultivation are recommended for direct consumption after the harvest, although they can also be preserved. Pods and seeds contain a variety of B vitamins, vitamin C, provitamin A, calcium, phosphorus, kalium and other minerals.

Cultivation of the French staked beans starts in spring after the last frosts. It is recommended to sow the seeds into cultivated, weeded, compost–enriched, medium compact and moist soil. We should choose sunny and warm sites. In those conditions rich crops of beatifully formed, tasty pods can be harvested in summer – in July, August and at the beginning of September.
