The purple, staked bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) of the "Blauhilde" variety bleongs to highly valued late cultivars. These vigorous plants can grow even 4 m tall and produce myriads of flowers, from which large, long (20 to 25 cm), fleshy and stringless pods develop. The pods are round in cross section and are purple coloured, turn however dark green after cooking.
Seeds of the ordinary green bean are sown directly in spring, 3-4 seeds per hole. The variety offered here needs a pole or other supporting structure to develop properly. This plant will bring high yield on a sunny, warm site with permeable, fertile and not too dry soil. The pods can be harvested at your discretion from the last days of July until September. Tasty pods are rich in valuable and easily assimilable proteins, B-complex vitamins and minerals, among others kalium, calcium and magnesium.
Each package contains 10 g of green bean "Blauhilde" seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date have been included in the product information.
