Indian chrysanthemum with double flowers (Chrysanthemum indicum fl. pl.) is plant that you should have in your garden. It will adorn it in autumn, when the majority of other blooms wither. This plant produces full, capitulum inflorescences consisting of tongue-shaped blooms that take on different colours, from white, through yellow, orange, pink to red. This species is characterized by an erect habit that sprouts branched stalks at the top. Indian chrysanthemum is worth growing in large groupings at flowery borders among other ornamental species such as asters and rudbeckias. It can be planted in containers, balcony boxes and pots and grown for cut flowers.
Seeds are sown in March on a seed bed or warm room. Well developed seedlings are transplanted into open field in May after the last frosts. Chrysanthemums grow well in a permeable, fertile soil on a sunny site.
