The Lilac Perfection tulip (Tulipa) offers the best way to let the garden in May enchant you with spectacular tulips. This late-flowering variety with huge flowers looks more like a fluffy peony than a traditional tulip. An impressive, compact flower densely packed with petals develops from spherical, large buds in early May. As the name of the variety suggests, its flowers take on a lilac-pink shade that might turn to light, paste, cool, purple with a pearly glow. These sumptuous flowers, rising on strong, erect stems, are framed by bluish-green, erect leaves. Planted in a dense row or group, Lilac Perfection tulip remains unmatched when it comes to decorative qualities.
The variety presented here in our store will look particularly attractive on multi-species flower beds, where it can stay for a long time after early and mid-early single tulips have disappeared. You can also plant it in wide stripes along a fence, path, or a house wall - preferably in company of white, pink, or yellow tulips, such as Aveyron, Exotic Emperor, Finola, Sunlover, and Yellow Pomponette. All those varieties are available in our store. The up to fifty centimetres (twenty inches) tall Lilac Perfection makes a great figure as cut flower. Plant tulip bulbs in rows every twelve to fifteen centimetres (five to six inches) and twelve to fifteen centimetres (five to six inches) apart. This variety likes permeable, moist, and humus-rich soil. The site should be sunny or slightly shaded.
Package contains 250 bulbs of the Lilac Perfection tulip sized eleven to twelve centimetres (four-and-a-half to eleven inches) in circumference. Essential growing instructions can be found on the package.
