Perilla, also known as Shiso, is an opulent annual plant which grows up to 60 centimetres in height with eye-catching, frizzy, deep purple leaves that are highly aromatic. Perilla is a variety which is highly suitable to be grown in high flower beds, containers and diverse flower arrangements. This plant is appreciated for its a high value as a companion plant.

Growing: sow the seeds under cover from March to April. The seeds germinate in 2 to 3 weeks at 18-20oC. Prick the seedlings out into pallet planters. Plant out into a permanent position in 30-35cm spacings in the second half of May. The plants grow well in fertile permeable soils in sunny positions.
