Pink dahlia belongs to the most beautiful bulbous flowers that show up in the garden from July until the first cold wave in autumn. This seasonal beauty is an abundantly growing plant with feathery leaves and numerous deeply pink, ornamental flowers.  Tall erect dahlia tufts grow even 120 centimetres tall in most favourable conditions. The slightly lifted, tongue-shaped petals form nice flower heads with a diameter of 10 to 15 centimetres. Dahlias thrive on lawns, flower beds, borders, in naturalistic groups, and make excellent cut flowers. Dahlias who bloom reliably from July to October are highly valued by gardeners as plants with a wide variety of applications in gardens and planters.

Georginas, as dahlias were once called, are easy to grow. You can plant them in the garden or in planters. This species is unfortunately sensitive to frost and its rootstock must therefore be excavated in autumn and stored indoors over the winter. The rootstock are planted again in spring close to the surface. It is recommended to put dahlia rootstock into pots and growing seedlings at home. Then you transplant forced plants to the target site in the garden after they are not longer threatened by frost.

Dahlias like sunny sheltered sites and fertile, permeable soil. They require regular feeding and quite a lot of water, particularly during the flowering period. If you wish to extend that time, remove wilted flower to make the plant produce new buds.

Each package contains 1 premium quality rootstock of the Pink dahlia. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
