The pink-flowered tree lily (Lilium OT) is a majestic exceptionally tall and abundantly blooming perennial that will adorn the garden in high summer. Clusters of flowers develop on its 150 to 200 cm tall erect and densely leaved stems in June and July. Each of the clusters consists of several dozens o large bowl-shaped six-petal flowers. The variety presented here in our online store takes on an eye-pleasing pastel warm pink colour. The inside part of each flower cup is decorated with a creamy-yellow dot that adds depth to it and puts the contrastingly coloured anthers on display. The huge inflorescences of the tree lily reach even 20 centimetres in diameter and hang on long petioles sideways, creating an abundant yet rather loose umbel. This flower bed giant is simply unmatched when it comes to the ornamental value. It's hard to imagine a more beautiful and monumental decoration of the flower bed background.

Tree lily bulbs can be planted directly in spring and autumn. This fully winter hardy variety is a hybrid of the magnificent oriental and trumpet lilies, even though it surpasses the parent species both in terms of size and easy cultivation. The wonderful orienpet lilies will pay you back with wonderful flowering for minimal care. They only need a sunny sheltered site with a high quality humous soil that should also be sufficiently moist during the growth and flowering stages. It shouldn't be too compact, as good permeability, achieved e.g. by applying a drainage layer during planting, ensures healthy wintering of the bulbs. The pink-flowered tree lily will adorn a flower bed on its own - it presents its charm to the fullest in groups of 3 to 5 plants. We also recommend to combine it with its relatives, e.g. the yellow and red tree lilies. The flowering stems of the orienpet lilies will tower over other perennials and annual flowering plants. They harmonize well with the typical rural flowers, such as hollyhocks, hoary stocks, asters zinnias, poppies, dahlias, phloxes, daylilies and sunflowers. There flowering stalks can also be cut and put into vases, because they display high durability.
