Platycodon or balloon flower "Fuji Blue" (Platycodon grandiflorus) is an attractive perennial plant that produces large, bell-shaped flowers. The intensely blue coloured blooms consist of five petals arranged on a star. These plants develop as erect, branched stems growing 40 – 50 cm tall. Both the blue-green, egg-shaped leaves with dentate edges and large, balloon-shaped flower buds display ornamental value, too. The "Fuji Blue" variety blooms from June to August. Flowers appear in large numbers and constitute a great border decoration, but may also be planted on edgings and in pots.

Balloon flower, sometimes called Chinese bellflower grows best on permeable, yet water retaining, humous-clay soils rich in nutrients. The soil should not be waterlogging, as the plants quickly die off of the excess humidity. Plant it in spring on a sunny or only partially shady border. This species is fully frost-resistant.

Each package contains 1 rhizome of the "Fuji Blue" platycodon, ballon flower. The most important growing instructions have been printed on each package.
