The Purple Emperor stonecrop (Sedum spectabile) proudly carries its imperial title and belongs to the most sought-after varieties of its species. It is a plant that you cannot pass without looking - atop the dark purple erect shoots that are covered with lavender-coloured leaves sit dark pink rich flower clusters. The Purple Emperor stonecrop can play the main part in border compositions and in rock gardens. It loves sunny situations and feels good in sandy, dry, meagre soils. It is exceptionally easy in cultivation, completely hard, resistant to diseases and first and foremost, unique, and magnificent.

The variety offered here in our store grows 40 centimetres on average. It flowers from August to October and its densely leave shoots can be adorned all year long, as it does not lose leaves in autumn. The Purple Emperor will reign over the garden. It will look best on the background of ornamental grasses, lower conifer shrubs and in arrangements with other representatives of its species, e.g. white Summer Surprise sedum with carmine red shoots or the dark red Munstead Dark Red. Flowering shoots of the presented plant are worth cutting and presenting in vases.
