Purple Kohlrabi ‘Alka’ is a medium-late variety with characteristic purple roots; it can be cultivated in the spring or in the autumn. Its crunchy flesh is very juicy and remains fresh over a long period of time. The vegetables grown from the seeds that have been sown in the spring can be stored fresh to late winter. Purple Kohlrabi ‘Alka’ is a top choice for freezing.

Growing: sow the seeds from May to June. Plant out from June to July; grow the plants in 30x40cm spacings. The vegetables are ready to be harvested from September to October.
