The Blue Hill reticulate iris will immediately change your garden. This low growing plant attracts attention not only with the saturated colour, but with the subtle form of its flowers, too. It offers great company for the first spring plants. It harmonizes well with the grape hyacinths, snowdrops and winter aconites. The Blue Hill iris is vividly coloured. The purple-blue flowers with yellow stripes are exceptionally charming. The presented irises, grown on a bed edging, will gently wrap the flower beds and paths like a satin ribbon. They look great in rock gardens, where their beauty is underscored by the raw presence of the rocks. These exceptionally early blooming plants should be planted in the most exposed parts of the garden. They will rejuvenate the grey post-winter yards with their colours. They will constitute a bright, cheerful showcase of your property. This tiny iris may start to bloom even in January and shoot from underneath the snow. The blooming may last until March or April. The variety offered here grows 15 cm tall on average.

The tiny, charming reticulate, also known as botanical, irises are bulbous plants that should be planted in autumn, preferably at the end of September and at the beginning of October. All they need is a humous, aerated, lime, permeable soil that is medium compact. They like sunny situations, but would also thrive partial shade.  It does not require watering due to its vegetation period during which the soil is still moist after the winter. The reticulate iris belongs to the plants highly resistant to diseases and you will only seldom find pests on them.  We recommend to cover the fresh plantings with a thicker mulch layer, while the older ones only in the colder regions. You may also feed the bulbs in early spring with a dose of an organic fertilizer. We recommend to dig out the bulbs every three to four years in order to let them rest. This measure will ensure abundant blooming every season.

The price quoted here is valid for 10 bulbs of the Blue Hill reticulate iris sized 6 to 7 cm in diameter.
