The green snowdrop (Galanthus woronowii) belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family. It belongs to the most popular plants that grow both in the wild and in gardens. This species originates from the Caucasus. The up to 25 cm tall green snowdrop belongs to the commonly known symbols of the coming spring. Its main ornamental value lies in the drooping, circa 3 cm long flowers. The outer, slightly twisted petals cover the inner ones that are decorated with a juicy green dot. These tender charming flowers that hang singly from thin peduncles open very early. They often spring out from under the snow at the end of February or beginning of March already. The small snowdrops quickly take root on various sites in the garden and spread rapidly, creating large colonies. They are perfect for naturalizing the garden, planting at the front of the borders and sodding the ground under trees. Snowdrops harmonize well with all plants that are traditionally grown in rock gardens.

The small snowdrop bulbs should be planted in autumn. These plants belong to the undemanding ones and are easy to grow. They develop well in every soil that is rich in humus and sufficiently moist. The species presented here will also grow well on slightly drier sites, as it prefers looser and permeable soils. Plant its bulbs 8 to 10 cm deep. The distance between plants should be about the same. The dispersed light suits the plants well in the summer, when they are in dormancy stage.
