The flesh is firm, juicy, and boasts a decorative purple-white hue. With a mild, aromatic, and balanced flavour, this red onion variety is distinguished by its thin, well-adhering, dark red outer layer. Notably, it has a high vitamin C content and remains chive-free during storage.

Red onions are milder and less pungent than their yellow counterparts, making them ideal for raw consumption in salads or as a garnish.
