The sun star - Ornithogalum Dubium - is a beautiful, compact bulbous perennial that produces flowers that take on a juicy orange colour. This exceptional plant species is recommended for pot cultivation at home. The main advantage of the sun star is its early blooming period that falls on winter and early spring. The plant at first produces light green, lanceolate, erect leaves among which an erect, 30 to 35 cm tall flower stalk appears. Atop of that stalk develops a cone shaped inflorescence that consists of tiny, star-shaped, bright orange flowers. The charming sun star is easy to grow and blooms dependably for a long time, as the flowers remain on the plant for up to six weeks. The plant offered here in our garden store can become a great decoration of a bright windowsill and will introduce a spring mood to your apartment already in February.
Sun star bulbs should be planted in bowls and pots in the standard garden soil equipped with a drainage layer. The perennial that we present here prefers bright, sunny sites, e.g. East or South facing windowsills. It quickly propagates through bulblets and delivers excellent cut flowers that can be put into vases.
Each package contains 50 bulbs of the sun star Ornithogalum Dubium, sized 5 to 6 cm in circumference. The most important plant growing tips were included in the package information.
