Sweet pea "Beaujolais" (Lathyrus odoratus Beaujolais) is an extremely vigorous variety producing deep red, beautiful flowers. It reaches a height of minimum 120 cm, creeping on any given kind of supports thanks to their branched tendrils. Butterfly-shaped flowers, at least 4 cm broad, consist of a keel, banner and a pair of wings and appear from June until September. The blooms are grouped in twos or threes. Another advantage of this undemanding and unproblematic annual creeping plant is a pleasant, sweet flavour excreted by its flowers.
Seeds are sown directly in April or even earlier, end of March. "Beaujolais" sweet pea can be grown in rows that are 15-20 cm apart, by wire fences, arbours, at gazebos or even leaned on a trellis made of sticks. It looks great in bouquets, particularly when combined with pastel-coloured sweet pea varieties "Night&Day" and "America" This variety only requires exposure to sun and a permeable, humous soil containing calcium.
The package contains 3 g of sweet pea "Beaujolais" seeds. The sow-by date and growing guide have been printed on the back side of the package.
