The "Old Spice America" sweet pea is an annual climber that develops wonderfully coloured flowers. Their unique feature are the striped inflorescences. The combination of white and raspberry red contrasts with the greyish green stems and leaves. Sweet pea constitutes a reliable decoration of fences, mesh, gazebos, pergolas and other structures upon which it can climb. It is a durable cut flower. Small sweet pea bouquets add a romantic note and a sweet, heavenly scent to every room. A fully grown sweet pea plant reaches up to 2.5 metres.
Sweet pea seeds should be sown pointwise, 2 or 3 seeds per hole, on sunny sites. This plant does not have any special cultivation requirements, but grows the most abundantly on permeable, lime soil. Spring, preferably from March to May, proves to be the best time for sowing this plant. We recommend to soak the seeds in water for 24 hours before the sow in order to speed up and facilitate germination. The flowering period begins already several weeks after that and lasts all summer long until October. We recommend to grow sweet pea 20 to 30 cm apart.
Each package contains 2 grams of the "Old Spice America" sweet pea seeds. The detailed growing instructions and the sow-by date can be found at the back of the package.
