Tomatillo is an annual plant that grows around 60 centimetres in height. It produces branched reclining shoots and yellow-green fruit which are wrapped in a coriaceous covering; the fruit resemble tomatoes in shape. The juicy fruit grow 30 to 40 grams in weight and have a very characteristic flavour. Tomatillo is a top choice for making fruit products.

Growing: sow the seeds in pallet planters, pots or in planter boxes in April. The seeds germinate in two weeks at 15-22°C. Plant the seedlings out into the soil in 70x70cm spacings in the second half of May. The plants require relatively moist soils. Do not cut the shoots. Harvest the fruit once a week.
