The Montego Bay tree lily belongs to showy, vigorously growing, tall, and profusely flowering varieties. Can you ask for more from a typical summer flower? Montego Bay's flowers in warm, fruity shades of peach and raspberry are still a rarity. The upward-pointing, pleasantly scented flowers are sought after by many people. A straight and stiff stem, covered with shiny, lanceolate leaves, is the ideal background for those flowers which appear between July and September. Tree lilies belong to those groups of plants that should not be missed when planning a garden. The still relatively new tree lilies are perfect as the last, highest line of a border or flowerbed. It is worth to surround places of rest or representative areas with tree lilies. If we feel like it, we can cut flowers for fragrant bouquets that bring a touch noblesss to your home. Tree lilies reach their full size after getting fully accustomed to their site, which usually happnes in the second or third year.

Amazing tree lilies do not belong to demanding plants. Just plant them in permeable and fertile, sandy loam, moderately moist soil. They grow perfectly in sunny, sheltered positions. Provided with a rich soil, lilies can stay in one place for several years, but do not forget that those vigorously growing plants that produce lots of flowers need regular feeding, preferably with the use of organic fertilizers. Mulching and watering during drought is recommended. Tree lilies, are a hardy bunch, yet we still recommend covering them before the winter in colder regions. The cover should be removed only after the late spring frosts.
