Triton gladiolus (Gladiolus) is a very attractive variety that produces unusually large blooms. One long inflorescence consists of even a dozen single flowers. Deep purple colouring of the flowers gets gradually lighter to become snowwhite in the centre. These plants develop erect, slender habit. They shoot a strong and long flowering stalk that reaches height of 100 120 cm in the summer. Flowers develop gradually from July until end of August. Triton gladiolus is a perfect offer for summer borders, where it looks splendidly in larger groupings as background for lower growing plants.
Large Triton gladiolus bulbs are planted out in the field at the end of April and at the beginning of May. Choose sunny and windsheltered sites, as strong gales might break long stems. The soil needs to be fertile, humous, moderately moist and properly drained. This species is not frostresistant. Bulbs have to be stored in an airy and cool room, where they would not be exposed to frost.
One package contains 250 bulbs of the Triton gladiolus, sized 12/14. Essential growing instructions have been printed on each package.
