The 'Belicia' variety is a large-flowered tulip that will dazzle and appeal to senses of all connoisseurs of Tulipa plants. It produces three to four huge flowers on one stem and becomes a bouquet of its own kind. The spectacular flowers are at first lemon yellow with carmine red tips. The petals change their colour to white marked with deep red dots as the plants mature. It is a tremendous flower for borders, pots and planters and provides excellent cut flowers. The variety that we offer here, grows 50 centimetres on average. The peak of its flowering period falls for April and May. If you are looking for a little extravaganza on your favourite flower beds, this tulip will definitely add the desired characteristics.

The colourful tulips look equally spectacular in the garden as in a planter on a balcony. These plants offer you a wide variety of uses. They will fill spring flower beds and create breath-taking meadows on lawns. Tulips bring life to the garden when planted under trees and shrubs. Long rows of the flowering tulips, planted alongside a path or a wall will not be unnoticed. You cannot forget that tulips are also excellent cut flowers. Bouquets of these flowers herald the coming of spring.

Tulips thrive in sandy-loam soil. They prefer fertile, humous and permeable soils. Moderately moist soil, a sheltered sunny or partially shady site constitute the optimal tulip growing conditions. It is recommended to transplant the bulbs every three years.

Tulip bulbs should be planted only in autumn. September and October prove to be the optimal time for this activity. Put the bulbs into the previously prepared soil on beds or into containers that are at least 20 centimetres deep. The bulbs should be covered with a soil layer twice their height. We recommend to enrich the soil with well fermented manure before planting in order to improve its properties. Tulips survive lower temperatures quite well, but they are not fully resistant to frost. We recommend to cover tulip sites before the winter with conifer twigs or a mulch layer that will also protect the place from weeds and the soil from drying.

One package contains 5 bulbs of the 'Belicia' tulip, sized 12/14 cm. Product information on the label contains plant facts and growing tips.
