The Blushing Apeldoorn tulip can be compared to a warm spring flame. Its saturated yellow-orange colour is lined with a red blush. This unique flower belongs to the long-blooming Darwin hybrids. Its satin petals form large, almost rectangular buds that change into large, broad bowls as they unfold. The variety offered here has long, strong stems that make it perfect for open areas. The flowers of this tulip provide excellent material for florists. It is suited both for bouquets and other flora arrangements. These beautiful tulips that take on warm colours grow 40 to 60 cm and their blooming peak falls on May.

The colourful tulips look tremendously in the garden and in planters on a balcony. The plants may be used in a wide variety of ways. They will fill spring borders and breath-taking, dense stands on lawns. They will rejuvenate the garden when planted under trees and shrubs. Long rows of flowering tulips planted alongside paths or building walls will provide unforgettable visual effects. You should not forget about tulips as cut flowers, either. A tulip bouquet is a clear sign that spring is coming.

Tulips grow best in the sandy-loam soil. They prefer rich, humous and permeable soils. The optimal soil should be moderately moist or moderately dry. The site should be wind-sheltered, sunny or partially shady. We recommend to transplant the bulbs to another site every 3 seasons.

Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn only, preferably in September and October. Place the bulbs in the previously prepared soil outside or in containers that are at least 20 cm deep. The bulbs should be covered with a soil layer that is at least twice their height thick. We recommend to add some well-fermented compost to the soil before planting in order to improve its properties. Tulips tolerate low temperatures quite well, yet are not 100% frost resistant. We recommend to mulch the sites with conifer twigs or natural mulch before the winter. This treatment will also prevent weeds from growing and the soil from drying.

One package contains 5 bulbs of the Blushing Apeldoorn tulip sized 12/+ cm. The basic plant information and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
