The beautiful pink 'Candy Prince' tulip will bring the most of its potential on a small flower bed or in a basket. This scented flowering plant grows only 40 centimetres tall. The light colour of the petals ideally harmonizes with the silver-grey-green foliage with wavy edges. The well developed flowers consist of six petals that are uniformly coloured and slightly shiny. A yellow spot with white edge appears sometimes at the base of the flower cup. This tulip variety ideally fits into early spring plant compositions when planted in the foreground or a planter on a patio. It will also adorn your interiors as a cut flower.

The subtle and low growing tulips look equally stunning in the garden as in a container on a balcony. They can be used in a variety of ways. They prove to be an excellent filler for spring flower beds and allow you to grow breath-taking meadows on lawns. Tulips bring life to the garden when planted under trees and shrubs. Long rows of the flowering tulips, planted alongside a path or a wall will not be unnoticed. You cannot forget that tulips are also excellent cut flowers. Bouquets of these flowers herald the coming of spring.
Tulips grow best in sandy-loam soils. They prefer fertile, humous and permeable soils. Moderately moist soil, a sheltered sunny or partially shady site constitute the optimal tulip growing conditions. It is recommended to transplant the bulbs every three years.

Tulip bulbs should be planted only in autumn. September and October prove to be the optimal time for this activity. Put the bulbs into the previously prepared soil on beds or into containers that are at least 20 centimetres deep. The bulbs should be covered with a soil layer twice their height. We recommend to enrich the soil with well fermented manure before planting in order to improve its properties. Tulips survive lower temperatures quite well, but they are not fully resistant to frost. We recommend to cover tulip sites before the winter with conifer twigs or a mulch layer that will also protect the place from weeds and the soil from drying.
