The low growing 'Für Elise' tulip delights with the exceptional beauty of its subtle salmon pink petals and constitutes a tremendous flower bed and rock garden edging or a decoration in planters. Its slender flower buds and the broad speckled leaves beautifully expose pastel colours. This variety forms wonderful single species compositions and fits into arrangements with other bulbous flowers. It blooms from mid-April until May. The up to 20 centimetres tall tulip provides excellent material for naturalization on lawns. It is easy to grow and reliable. You can adorn a balcony or terrace with it. The properly maintained tulip will bloom abundantly each spring. This impressive and beautiful Greigii tulip is often utilized by greenery designers in cities. Its shapely and small flowers retain their great looks in vases for a long time.

Tulips do not have any special cultivation requirements. This plant does not absorb much of your attention. You only need to learn their site requirements in order to enjoy magnificent flowers. Tulips grow best in medium heavy to light soils. A sandy-loam soil needs to be permeable, rich in nutrients and organic matter. We recommend to avoid waterlogging, acidic, heavy and too dry soil. Tulips prefer sunny situations, but several hours per day in the shade will not do them any harm. The site for planting tulip bulbs should be prepared earlier. Verticulate and weed the soil, as well as remove all the larger stones from it. The admixture of ground compost proves to bring the plant substantial benefits and gives them a head start. You may also add a little sand to the soil in order to make it lighter. You do not have to excavate tulip bulbs every year, but doing so every 3 to 4 years strengthens plants. It also allows you to propagate tulips with offsets. The plants tolerate European winters and can remain on the same site for several years.

Tulip bulbs need to be planted in autumn. September and October are considered the best months for executing this task. The optimal planting depth equals twice the height of a bulb. The spacings between plants depend on the effect that you wish to achieve. Take 15-20 x 15-20 centimetres as a starting point.

One package contains 5 bulbs of the 'Für Elise' tulip. The basic plant facts and a growing guide were printed on the packaging label.
