The 'Pink Impression' tulip belongs to the most beautiful Darwin hybrids. Its flower consist of pastel pink petals with a pearl glow and sit atop slender straight stems. They are tightly closed and cone-shaped when the flowering period begins in April. In May they unfold into the traditional deep cup shape. The overall height of this variety reaches 60 centimetres. It is therefore well suited for growing in company of other similarly tall tulips, e.g. the snow-white 'Hakuun'. It can also provide background for the lower growing cultivars, such as the creamy-white 'Concerto'.
Tulips should be planted in autumn in a permeable soil that is rich in humus, moderately moist, yet not too heavy. It should not be waterlogging either. The 'Pink Impression' variety, just like its relatives, requires access to sunlight. Plant the bulbs 12 centimetres deep, 12 to 15 centimetres apart. You can leave them on the same site for several years or excavate each year after the leaves have wilted.
One package contains 50 bulbs sized 11/12 centimetres in circumference. The bulbs offered here in our store were bred in Holland.
