The Tarafa tulip belongs to the Greigii group of varieties that stands out with spotted or striped foliage. These low growing tulips look great both before and during the flowering period. Thanks to the intriguing leaf design they will even decorate the garden after the flowers have wilted. Tarafa tulip is a typical representative of its group. Its large, bicolour creamy-white-raspberry-pink flowers sit on 30 to 40 centimetre long stems. The beautiful flower show of the Tarafa variety takes place in April and May. Its wonderful slender flowers perfectly match other late tulips. Such composition will please the eyes of garden visitors for quite a long time.

Tulips prefer sunny sites. Plant bulbs in autumn, preferably in September and October. Prepare the soil and plant the bulbs at the depth equal twice or thrice the height of the bulb, 10 to 15 centimetres. The soil must be fertile, rich in humus, and permeable. The site must not be too moist. You do not have to excavate tulip bulbs. They can stay at the same site for several years. We recommend covering the ground over tulip bulbs with mulch. Flower rests should be removed at the end of the flowering period, the leaves only after they dry out.

A patch of tulips, even the smallest one, should not be missed from any garden. There is plenty of ways to use those most popular bulb plants. You can plant them in single-species carpet-like flower beds, in mixed compositions with other bulbous plants, and arrangements with both perennial and annual flowers. They look great on English-style borders that surround a lawn. It is worth choosing the sturdy and prove tulips to fill planters on a balcony, terrace, or patio. They will also fit into a rock garden and provide a colourful accent next to trees and shrubs.

A single package contains 5 bulbs of the Tarafa tulip, sized 11/12. Basic plant information and cultivation tips can be found on the product label.
