Turnip rape "Brachina" (Brassica rapa L. subsp. Oleifera) is an annual plant that belongs to cabbage family. It is cultivated as oil and forage crop, but mostly finds it use as green matter, less frequently as aftercrop or forage plant, mostly for grazers. Seeds are an ideal forage for birds. It is rather unpopular in many countries, as it brings poorer crops than the very similar rape.

Turnip rape or field mustard shows high tolerance to lower temperature, significantly higher than rape. It survives cold and snowless winters well. Seeds of the turnip rape "Brachina" sold in our store can be sown as winter aftercrop or in the spring as the main crop. When sown in September, it brings green forage already in mid-April. "Brachina" turnip rape brings the richest crops on fertile soils that are rich in humus and calcium. It should not be cultivated on acidic soils. It is sown after the corns, but is sometimes used as forecrop for beetroots, because it decreases the number of nematodes in the ground.

The package contains 1 kg of "Brachina" turnip rape seeds. The sow-by date is included in the package information.
