The Venezia gladiolus (Gladiolus) available here in large 50-piece packages belongs to a group of lower growing cultivars that produce blooms taking on the most beautiful pastel shade of light pink. The plant offered here grows 70 cm tall and develops stiff, naked flowering stalks surrounded by smooth, dagger-shaped leaves. The erect, slender habit of the gladioli perfectly harmonises with the elegant form of its inflorescences. The Venezia gladiolus develops funnel-shaped, broadly open flowers gathered in long, dense ear atop the stalk. The flowers have darker, purple spots on the perianth what, together with the light pink colouring of the petals, adds additional depth and a hint of glamour.

The easy to grow and exceptionally ornamental gladioli may be planted on all kinds of the soil, on sunny and partially shady sites. Plant at least three bulbs per hole in a moist, loosened, humous soil. Second half of spring is the ideal time for planting gladioli. Excavate the plants before first autumn frosts and store until next season in a cool cellar or garage. Tender yet exceptionally picturesque Venezia gladiolus looks great in larger groupings in the centre of a border or flower bed, on the background of taller varieties, such as Dynamite, London, Mademoiselle de Paris, Milka, or Vera Lynn. It is also worth combining it with hollyhocks, lilies, purple eastern coneflowers, dahlias, speedwells, and phloxes. This gladioli variety is perfect for cut flowers.

One package contains 50 bulbs sized 14+ centimetres in circumference. Essential growing instructions have been printed on each package.
