The Virtuoso lily has long, protruding anthers, just like other orienpet lilies. This variety ensures truly unique visual experience. The light coloured flowers are elegant and can be used as cut flowers in festive bouquets. Thick, stiff, green stems are densely covered with lanceolate leaves. A lily that has taken good root in the garden grows 80 to 90 centimetres tall. Its cup-shaped flowers that measure about 15 centimetres in diameter open mid-July. The Virtuoso lily constitutes a wonderful component of flower bed arrangements. It looks equally stunning as a stand-alone plant and in a larger group. It brings stunning visual effects planted at the pond and water reservoir edges.
You can grow the most beautiful orienpet lilies on warm and sunny sites. The soil should be light, rich in humus, and constantly, yet moderately moist. Make sure to deeply till a site where you intend to grow lilies. The most varieties prefer a slightly acidic or neutral soil reaction. Orienpet lilies are plants that require a systemic approach from a gardener. It concerns, first and foremost, watering and fertilizing plants during the season. Removing of wilted inflorescences is also important - it prevents the plant from wasting energy for producing seeds and allows to use it to develop new flower buds. Orienpet lilies belong to the most sensitive to frost among all lily groups. That is why we recommend digging out the rootstock before the winter, particularly if a cold, snowless winter is forecasted.
