"Maryna" white mustard (Sinapis alba) is an annual plant grown mostly for seeds that are used in production of oil, condiments, as spice and medicinal herb. The plants may also be used as ploughed-in green fertilizer, green forage and pasture mixtures. The "Maryna" variety belongs to medium tall plants. It develops erect stems that branch in the upper part. The feathery leaves have a distinct, savour tastes that predestines them for use in salads. Blooming starts medium early. White mustard belongs to melliferous plants. The plant improves the structure, as well as physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil as green fertilizer. What is particularly important, it limits the spread of nematodes, including cyst nematodes in the soil.
White mustard belongs to plants that do not show high soil requirements and may grow on light, yet not sandy, soils. It yields richest and best crops on sufficiently moist, calciferous soil rich in nutrients. Neutral soil reaction suits this species best. White mustard plants tolerate periodic droughts very well, but react badly to water shortages during blooming. Sow white mustard seeds as soon as possible, when the soil has warmed up and dried after the winter. Seeding rate for the main crop amounts to 10-15 kg/ha and 20-25 kg/ha when sown for after crop.
One package contains 0.5 kg seeds of the "Maryna" white mustard. The sow-by date has been printed on the package.
