The white "Leda" radish (Raphanus sativus) should raise interest among gardeners looking for crisp and tender flesh radish varieties. This vegetable produces cylindrical roots approximately 4,5 cm long covered with snow white skin. They taste great eaten raw in sandwiches, salads and with cottage cheese. "Leda" variety is totally resistant to lignification and retains its freshness for a long time. It yields equally rich crops under covers and in the open field.

Sowing time of the "Leda" radish seeds depends on the cultivation method. The seeds can be sown under heated covers already in winter or in early spring, while the direct sow should take place in the spring or late in the summer. Ripe, delicious roots can be harvested from July to October. In order to yield rich crops the plant needs a sunny site and moist, very permeable, fertile soil that has not, however, been fertilized with manure.
