Alpine squill is a low growing, perennial, bulb flowering plant. Delicate colours, grace, and easy cultivation should be enough to convince you to invite it to your garden. Squill flowers consist of six elongated, ovate petals that are arranged like small stars. Plants produce two to three narrow leaves at the base of the flowering stalk that carry two to ten flowers. Colourful squill looks best in group plantings, especially those kept in natural style. They look great at the front of a composition and at edges of sidewalks and paths. The Alpine squill might not be flashy, but it adds a lot of unique charm to the garden. It flowers at the turn of March and April. After that, the plant gradually dies and goes into a state of summer dormancy.
We recommend planting squill bulbs at bright spots that are not directly exposed to sunlight. Presented species thrives in partial shade too. Moist, light, and well-drained soil, preferably rich in humus, suit Alpine squill best. Bulbs of the offered plant winter in the ground and do not require winter covering. Provided with favourable conditions, squill propagates quickly and forms charming, colourful carpets.
One package contains ten bulbs, sized five centimetres plus (two inches plus), of the Alpine squill colour selection. Basic plant facts and growing instructions were printed on the product label.
