Gaillardia 'Arizona Red Shades' bears flowers in a very deep red with a pale yellow centre. The petal edges are slightly fringed, which gives them an interesting look. It grows in dense, low clumps from which upright flower stems rise. This compact habit means the gaillardia does not flop to the sides and always keeps a neat shape. It flowers for an exceptionally long time, with the first buds opening as early as June and more appearing right through to autumn. It is one of those plants that keeps a border bright with vivid colour for the longest time.
