The bright pink "America" astilbe (Astilbe x arendsii) is considered a unique variety due to its seldom observed, exceptionally alluring flower colour. This bushy, densely leaved perennial delights with pink flowers in the beautiful, light, yet distinct, vivid shade. Astilbe flowers are tiny, but gather in large, feathery, fluffy inflorescences. The colourful ears that sit atop erect stems are by far not the only one ornamental feature of this wonderful perennial. The denticulated, pinnate, bright green leaves that give the plant a dense, bushy look, are no less ornamental. The variety presented in our online store grows 50 - 70 cm tall and blooms dependably from June to end of July.

The specific requirements of the "America" astilbe make it a perfect plant for humid sites, where the majority of flowering plants would not fare to well. Its dense, pink ears may be adorned at pond edges or in the shady garden corners, in perennial groupings and traditionally on the borders, both those formally and rustically arranged. Rhizomes of the "America" astilbe should be planted in the second half of spring in moist, humous, slightly acidic, deeply aerated soil. This plant loves the sun, yet thrives in partial shade, too. It may grow on one site for 3 to 4 years. Excavate and split the rhizomes after that time in order to gain young, vigorous seedlings for planting on new sites.

One package contains 1 healthy, large rhizome sized 2/3. Plant growing instructions were included in the package information.
