The Blue Ivory hosta or plantain lily (Hosta) is our proposal for smaller gardens, edgings of shaded flower beds, and growing alongside paths leading to places of relaxation. This compactly growing perennial is winter-hardy, does not fall to diseases, nor pests. It grows only thirty centimetres tall and reaches similar width. Its leaves sit on short petioles and form charming tufts. They delight with their tear-shaped blades and bright blue colour that contrasts with the creamy-white edge.
Plant hosta rhizomes in spring into moist, moderately compact soil that is rich in organic matter. A sufficient content of humus ensures the optimal fertility and structure of the ground. Presented variety, just like other hostas, prefers shade and partial shade. You can get the most of its charm in arrangements with other shade-loving perennials, such as alumroot, particularly when it is in full bloom with its subtle clusters of flowers. You can combine it with ferns, gunnera, blue and striped hostas, and miniature conifers.
One package contains 10 rhizomes of the Blue Ivory hosta. Essential growing instructions have been printed on each package.
