The Eastern Star botanical tulip retained some of the features of the wild growing species. It is exceptionally ornamental, though, particularly if you grow it in a rock garden. It grows rather low, up to 20 cm. It develops beautiful, carmine-red flowers with golden centres that look like stars when watched from above.
The botanical tulips do not belong to the demanding or hard to grow plants. They require a sunny or partially shady place with a moderately moist, fertile, medium heavy and permeable soil. Plant their bulbs in autumn 6 cm deep and 6 cm apart. You may leave them in the ground for the winter, because the Eastern Star tulip is frost resistant. We only recommend that you cover the planting site with conifer twigs.
Each package contains 50 bulbs of the Eastern Star botanical tulip sized 6 to 7 cm in circumference. They come from Dutch tulip farms and therefore stand out with the premium quality.
