The Tirol canna lily with salmon-pink flowers is a plant that immediately attracts attention. The unique, rather low-growing - 70 to 120 centimetres - variety available in our store is suitable for planting in the ground and as part of a pot composition. The graceful Tirol canna lily adds a hint of the tropical style to your garden or balcony. Its huge, egg-shaped, grey-green leaves perfectly match bright colours of the flowers that form abundant spikes at the end of a stem. This spectacular flower show begins in July and lasts until the end of September, sometimes, if weather permits, until the first autumn cold in October. Canna lily with its soaring habit can grow on a flower bed, at showcase parts of a lawn or property, e.g. at the entrance to the house. The compact Tirol canna lily looks especially nice in large wooden planters and ceramic pots. Make sure to put enough weight on the containers with the vigorously growing canna to protect them from falling over under the weigh of the plant.
Growing canna lily requires some time and effort. You can plant rhizomes directly on a flower bed after the last frost in May or force them in pots at home earlier. Seedlings grown that way and hardened, can betransferred outside in mid-May. Canna lily prefers sunny, warm, and sheltered positions. It requires good quality, fertile, humous, and continually moist soil. Canna lily belongs to perennials that need to be dug up before the winter. The stored rhizomes are then planted again in the spring next year.
Each package contains one first-quality rhizome of the Tirol canna lily. Plant information and a growing guide can be found on the product label.
