The Cleopatra Red is an unusual canna lily variety that bears red flowers that are adorned with charming warm shades of yellow and orange. Large, oval, green leaves with burgundy red markings complement the ornamental appearance. Stiff, erect stems proudly hold and present large flower clusters that develop on plants from the middle of summer to early autumn. This medium-sized variety is perfectly suited for border edges, larger plantings, and growing in planters. The distinct growth form of the plant and the bright colour of the flower wonderfully enriches garden arrangements. Canna lily produces nectar that attracts numerous insects. Butterflies who dance around the lush, exotic-looking flowers constitute a unique sight.

We recommend growing canna at sunny situation. This plant requires a permeable yet continually moist soil to develop optimally. Fertile soils that are rich in nutrients are considered best for canna lilies. A sheltered and warm site that offers conditions similar to those that canna knows from its natural habitat, suit the plants. You should plant the rhizomes only after the "ice saints". Gardeners who dispose of warm and bright rooms may force canna in planters and transfer the well-developed and hardened seedlings to the target site in the garden. Plants grown that way shall flower earlier than the specimens planted directly in the garden and will remain ornamental in the garden, on a terrace, and on a balcony for a longer time.

Canna rhizomes do not winter in the ground. You must excavate them and store in a room secured from frost.

One package contains 1 first choice rhizome of the Cleopatra Red canna lily. Basic plant facts and growing instructions can be found on the package label.
