The Whitewell Purple Tommasini's crocus (Crocus tommasinianus) belongs to the earliest blooming representatives of this species. This low growing bulbous perennial grows up to 10 cm tall and develops large, bowl-shaped flowers that consist of slender petals that are narrower than the petals of other popular species. The Whitewall Purple crocus's petals are not only smaller, but take on a unique colouring too. They have purple edges and silvery centres. You can admire them from March to the first decade of April. This charming, completely frost resistant and undemanding plant is perfect for the naturalization on lawns, but will find its place in a rock garden and on a flower bed as well.

Bulbs of the Whitewell Purple crocus should be planted on a partially shady or sunny site in drained and humous soil. Crocuses self-propagate rapidly in the Central European climate and spread every year, creating marvellous flower carpets. The variety presented here is no exception to this rule and can stay on the same site for years, producing more and more flowers each year.

The packages available in our store contain 100 bulbs of the Whitewell Purple crocus sized 5 to 6 cm. The most important plant growing tips were included in the package information.
