Cucumber "Ines F1" (Cucumis sativus) belongs to medium early varieties. This cultivar displays many positive futures: it is parthenocarpic and produces exclusively female blooms, what significantly increases crops volume. Apart from that it shows resistance to cucumber scab and powdery mildew, as well as high tolerance to downy mildew. It is intended for spring and autumn cultivation in greenhouses and plastic tunnels. What makes it stand out from other cucumber cultivars is the ability to grow it in lower temperatures, under that it does not produce less fruit, that may grow 18 - 20 cm long. They are covered with dark green, tender skin and show no hint of bitterness. Fruit of the variety presented here are recommended for direct consumption after the harvest in sandwiches and salads.
Greenhouse cucumbers are grown exclusively from seedlings. Cucumber seeds for greenhouse cultivation should be sown at the end of January, while for cultivation in plastic foil tunnels in mid-February. The "Ines F1" variety is resistant to temperature drops. If the temperature falls to 18-20°C in the day and to 14-16°C at night, you will not register decrease in crops volume. It definitely helps you lower heating costs. Proper fertilisation and watering is particularly important in the cultivation under covers.
