The Curly Sue tulip proudly represents fringed tulips. Apart from their frilly edges, its main distinct features are vigorous growth and late flowering period in May. Stylish crimson-purple flowers with characteristic edges stand out from other flower bed plants. Curly Sue tulips reach a height of fifty to fifty-five centimetres and dazzle with their form and deep colour. This variety is suitable for planting in single-species patches and in mixed compositions. It also makes a great pot and cut flower.
Tulips bloom most profusely at sunny sites, though the vicinity of deciduous trees and shrubs suits them well too. Tulip bulbs develop very well in light, fertile soils with high water capacity. Plant them from September to the end of October. When not sure, what depth to plant them, apply the rule of three times bulb height - you can never go wrong when calculating planting depth that way. Do not forget to water the site right after covering the bulbs with soil. In spring, when first sprouts appear, you can feed the plants with a dedicated multi-component fertilizer. You do not have to excavate tulip bulbs every year, though it is recommended in order to strengthen them before the coming season. It helps keep your plants healthy and guarantees rich flowering.
Package contains 250 bulbs of the Curly Sue tulip, sized 11/12 centimetres. Basic plant information and growing instructions were printed on the package label.
