The Duet dahlia (Dahlia) is an exceptionally ornamental variety that will become an instant head turner in garden arrangements thanks to its large double flowers whose diameter may reach 30 centimetres. The large spherical flowers consist of numerous dark red white-tipped petals. These plants produce large numbers of stems that are covered with feathery leaves. Presented variety grows up to 90 centimetres tall. It constitutes a wonderful decoration of the elevated borders. You can plant it along a fence or building wall. It blooms from the beginning of July until first frost.
The beginning of May is the best time to plant Duet dahlia rootstocks in the garden. Choose a sunny and sheltered situation. This species prefers permeable, light soil that contains plenty of nutrients and humus. It can also grow in soil of lesser quality but then it needs regular fertilization and watering. Just like other representatives of this species it should be excavated before the winter. Store the rootstocks in a cool room that is protected from frost.
