Dahlia Jan van Schaffelaar is a bulbous perennial with perfectly shaped, spherical pink flowers. Its dense tufts grow sixty to ninety centimetres tall and consist of ornamental, dark green leaves. Charming pompom-shaped flowers that measure several centimetres in diameter appear en masse from mid-summer until the first frost. The intricately shaped dahlia flowers decorate mixed flowerbeds and borders, but they look great in containers too. Dahlia gives you a wide choice of arrangement possibilities, either in a single-species group or in a mixed composition. They look nice in the company of ornamental grasses or phloxes. You can create a fairy-tale corner by combining the offered dahlia with such annuals as cosmos, marigold, and sunflower. That place immediately attracts many pollinating insects that bring more life into the garden.

Dahlia growing at a well-lit and wind-protected position brings satisfactory results. Lush tufts develop in well-drained, fertile soil with a high humus content. Regular watering and fertilization is a must. Feeding the soil with compost before planting tubers and during the growing season, brings very good results. In order for the dahlia to delight you with its flowers every year, dig up the tubers in autumn. Let them dry, clean, place in a container filled with sawdust or peat, and move to a room where they would be protected from frost.

Each package contains one first-quality tuber of the Jan van Schaffelaar dahlia. Packaging label contains a quick growing guide and basic plant description.
