The Park Princess dahlia belongs to the most stunning cactus dahlias. It produces pink flowers. Presented variety reaches an easy to accommodate height of 60 to 70 centimetres that brings virtually endless possibilities of fitting it into every garden. These plants, grown from rootstock, thrive in planters too. You can decorate a balcony or terrace with them. Dahlia loves the heat and sunlight like every native Mexican. It is sensitive to cold and therefore can be grown only at the height of the vegetation season in Central Europe. After the first frost in autumn, dahlia stems must be pruned 10 to 20 centimetres over the ground and its carrot-like rootstocks excavated. Transfer the rootstock to a place where it can slightly dry. Remove soil rests and place the rootstocks in ventilated boxes that should be stored over the winter in a dry, cool place where temperatures would not fall below freezing point. In drier rooms, cover rootstocks with layers of peat or sawdust that will prevent dahlias from drying out completely. Rootstocks stored that way over the winter should be planted in the garden in the second half of may. You can begin earlier by forcing dahlias in pots placed in bright rooms.
