The Rosella dahlia is an ornamental variety that produces large light pink flowers. Their petals are tongue-shaped with sharp tips and can twist inwards or wave at three quarters of their length. This up to 120 centimetres tall plant blooms from July until late in October. Its sweet pink flowers complement many other colours, allowing you to use this variety in planning of multicolour flower beds and compositions. Dahlias feel good in company of perennials and ornamental grasses that give them a touch of lightness. Their strong stems end with large flowers that are recommended for long-lasting cut flower arrangements and bouquets.
The Rosella dahlia is frost sensitive - its rootstock must be dug out in autumn after the first frost. The rootstock with trimmed shoots should be stored in dry and cool room and planted again in spring in a garden or in planters. Dahlia likes sunny sites that are sheltered from the wind and fertile and permeable soil. They require regular feeding and quite a lot of water, particularly during the flowering period. If you wish to extend that time, remove wilted flower to make the plant produce new buds. Put the tuberous roots about 5 to 10 centimetres deep from April to June. We recommend leaving substantial distances between individual plants, as this species is rather vigorous.
Each package contains 10 premium quality dahlia rootstocks of the Rosella variety. Basic plant growing instructions can be found on the package.
