Dahlia Sandra is a bulbous perennial with beautiful, candy-pink coloured flowers. The plant reaches 90 to 120 centimetres in height and generously produces medium-sized, pompom-shaped inflorescences. Petals arranged in densely packed layers are rolled into small tubes, which makes the flower resemble a honeycomb. This single colour, delightful dahlia offers the best option to decorate backyard flowerbeds, borders, and pots. Due to its colour, Sandra dahlia perfectly harmonizes with flowers in all shades of white, violet, burgundy, and light blue. You can combine it with contrasting orange or yellow flowers too. Dahlias are seasonal cut flowers, used both for bouquets and arrangements for various festive occasions.

Dahlia will grow in most types of soil, but feels best in fertile, well-drained soil. A sunny position, sheltered from gusty winds, and continually, moderately moist soil stimulates plants to produce many flowers. Since the plants grow vigorously, dahlia requires fertilization every few weeks throughout the season. This species is sensitive to water shortages, to which they react quickly by wilting. Monitor soil humidity and water your dahlias as required. We also advise you to trim faded flowerheads to allow plants to save energy and use it to grow and produce new buds.
Dahlia needs protection against low temperatures. In moderate and harsher climate, you have to dig out rhizomes before the winter and store indoors in temperatures above zero. Boxes and deep trays filled with peat, sawdust or sand are suitable for that purpose.

Each package contains one first-choice tuber of the Sandra dahlia. Basic plant facts can be found on the package label.
