The Topmix Yellow dahlia is a dwarf variety that develops a single whorl of sunny yellow petals. It is made for lower flower beds and borders where it blooms reliably all summer long, illuminating the surroundings with its bright colour. The low growing, 25 to 35 centimetres tall, broadly spreading tufts are a great decoration in ornamental pots and planters too. Golden flowers of the presented variety with radially arranged petals provide a great material for a distinctive colourful accent. Lush foliage of a dahlia are yet another asset of those rich and naturally elegant plants. The Topmix Yellow dahlia delights with its cheerfulness that should not be missed from any summer composition in a garden or on a balcony.

Dahlias should be planted on sunny and well lit situations. Keep plants 20 to 50 centimetres apart. From April to June, the tuberous rootstocks should be planted about five centimetres deep. They develop well in sandy-clay, fertile, and permeable soil. They require watering during periods of drought. Do not forget to remove wilted flowers. Dahlia reacts well to fertilization with manure, compost, and mineral fertilizers.

Dahlia tuberous rootstocks cannot winter in the field and must be excavated after the first frost. Trim the stem first and then gently excavate the rootstock. Store the rootstocks in ventilated open boxes in a dry place where the temperature is stabilized between 2 and 4?C. Cover the roots with peat in order to ensure best possible storage conditions. If you detect loss of firmness or wrinkled surface on the rootstocks, you can moisten them slightly.
