Cheese and Wine daylily (Hemerocallis hybrida) is a variety developing large and fragrant flowers. Their petals are crimson red at the edges and take on intense yellow colour in the centres. Narrow, spiky leaves are gathered in broad tufts that form a great garden decoration on their own. Cheese and Wine belongs to taller cultivars as it may grow up to 70 cm tall. Flowers will develop gradually from July to August. Tall daylily varieties look great in the central sections of arrangements or simply on lawns. You may also combine them with ornamental grasses and other perennials blooming in the summer.

Spring and autumn are the best periods for planting daylilies. Choose a sunny or partially shady site. This species does not have any special requirements, but prefers fertile, constantly moist soils that are rich in humus. It blooms abundantly each year, provided it is regularly fertilized and watered during drought periods. Cheese and Wine daylily winters successfully in the ground in our climate conditions.
